IMO it's better to throw a totally unexpected error than this kind of "weird effect" because if the numbers are off by a ton, you will know to think "hey, something's very wrong! better check my circuit!" but with Multisim numbers you're like "Wtf. Many SPICE simulators will throw you an error in a similar situation, or not measure anything at all (picoAmperes or nanovolts, stuff like that). Yeah, this is one of those times when Multisim tries to be "realistic" and makes your ground noisy because you haven't tied it anywhere.
